St Davids is the smallest city in Britain, yet bursting with exciting art galleries, craft shops and steeped in local history. St David, the Patron Saint of Wales, was born in St Davids. The Normans, recognised the importance of David and began to build a Cathedral, dating back to 1181. This undertaking took hundreds of years to complete. You can also visit the ruins of the Bishops Palace, which is situated close to the Cathedral.
Each night at 6.30 pm evensong can be heard in the Cathedral. This is a truly moving experience.
Pembrokeshire is blessed with the most fantastic beaches. We have several near St Davids including Caerfai and Whitesands. Beaches can be accessed from the hotel via the coast path.
There are 182 miles of the most breath-taking coast path in Pembrokeshire. The wild flowers, once in bloom carpet the coast path with the most glorious vibrant colours! The abundance of wildlife as a result is a rare treat.
Once on the coast path, look out for razorbills, guillemots and shags, as these can be frequently seen. Also look out for seals, as they love to pop their heads out when you're least expecting them to.
From the centre of St Davids you can organise a boat trip and go whale and porpoise watching or take a trip around some of the offshore islands.
